The Versatile VCCD I Digital Compactibility Tester gives foundries a fast, direct-reading measurement of green sand compactability, one of the most important control parameters on the moulding line. It replaces the manual specimen-tube-and-scale method with a clear digital readout, removing operator variation and speeding up shop-floor decisions.
Why compactibility matters
Compactibility reflects the moisture-to-clay balance of prepared moulding sand. Holding it inside the target band is essential for consistent mould strength, good flowability and defect-free castings. Measuring it on every batch lets the sand plant correct water addition before problems reach the mould.
